Food: My Personalize Low Carbs Diet With A Lot Of Exception

Well, one thing I have been doing lately is, going on a low-carbs diet.  So that means cutting off everything that’s heavy in carbs like rice, bread, noodles, beer(!!!) and the sort.  This has been going on for a couple weeks already actually, I have been mostly doing well with it, although sometimes I can’t fight the urge for a bowl of instant noodles, but I am ok with that, I am not going to force my self on a strict strict diet, it’s more like being more conscious with what I am eating, after all, any cutting back on carbs and increase in exercise is a success, small steps counts.

The low carbs diet works well for me actually, since I still get to eat meat, I am a meat eater more than anything else, rice and noodles cutbacks, I can do, even though it’s in my heritage, but meat?  That’s tough.

The instant change in my diet is the obvious increase in vegies and fruit intake, hey, you got the replace those rice that used to filled your tummy right?  Meat intake?  Not so much.  I would say I have actually reduce my overall meat intake in the process, simply by being more conscious of what I am eating.  I noticed that vegies and fruit in the fridge are gone more often now, I have to actually go shopping for vegies and fruits more often, that’s good, it means I am eating a lot more greens and fruits compare to before.

The other thing that has really increase since the start of my diet is my water intake, I drink a lot more water now, which is important.  Most of us did not drink enough water daily, our body needs water to flush out all the toxins and refresh it, there’s a lot of benefit to it which I recommend some reading up on the subject.  The one obvious good thing about drinking more water while in a diet is that, you don’t get hungry as often, water will make you feel full, so it in turn help you reduce your food intake.

The first couple days I was doing the diet, I felt my tummy is turning upside down, it was very uncomfortable, it is not used to processing so many fruits and vegies, especially the leafie type in the form of salad.  But that goes on for a week and it went away.

The benefit, for me, it’s almost instance, I went from 148 and down almost in an instance, at one point, I was as low as 139 in less than a month of doing this.  Of course, this is due to the body adjusting to the new diet, I am pretty much stabilize around 141-142 now.  To loose weight further, I will need to be more consistent with my exercise.

That’s another benefit that comes with this diet, it’s not the diet per-say, it’s the mind set.  With a more conscious mind, I am doing more exercises and sports, more meditation too!

So it has been great so far, I feel lighter, I feel less bolted, I feel my tummy is actually less rounded, I feel I have more energy, I feel brighter, and the mind is more focus and is able to brush asides a lot of negative thoughts and allow me to see things more clearly.

My original plan was doing this for a month, but now that I see the benefit, I plan to go along with it even further, making it a regular thing.  Of course, I can’t say no to noodles and rice forever, I can only do without them for so long in between, especially beer, one of my interest is beer tasting, I like to try different micro-brews, so nothing can stop me from getting a cold one, I just need to do it a little bit more far and between.

And there’s the weekends and travels.  I like to travel and my weekends are usually filled with trips and going out.  The first month I am on the diet, I have stayed home, staying faithful with vegies and meat, but that’s not realistic, and there’s no way I am holding back on what I eat when I am outside, I will always surely go for the best food and best drink available.  So I am making this a 5-days-a-week-diet-plan, with a holiday/vacation/travel exception built in.  Hey, life is short, while health is important, still got to eat, got to drink, got to live~

The next stage in my diet will be adding more exercising to my day, be more consistent with it.  it help tremendously lately with the new sword I got (yes, I do stuff like that, it’s my thing), I have been practice a lot with it, have really build strength and agility with it, and has help me burning more cals, I just have to do more, I should really start jogging and doing basketball again.
