Lumaca Diet Diary Weekly Summary 02/06/2018
Ok, so the title of this entry is weekly summary, why a weekly summary? Because I did not started on my daily diet entry that I should have started last week … And there’s no way I can remember what I ate for a week, so there’s no way I can write the diary retroactively, it’s just not how my brain work … Luckily, I have took some photos of what I ate, so I can at least do a summary.
Yeah, lets do that …
Let’s use these photos to see what have I been eating right and what I have not. Of course some of these photos are from weekend, as we all know, weekend doesn’t count, weekend is my diet off day~
My max weight this week was 142.2 and my lowest weight this week is 140.2. So I have been maintaining between 140 and 142 with my not so strict diet and very sporadic exercises.
Exercise wise, I have been mostly on the stationary bike and sword practice, I have been cutting a lot of boxes with my sword lately, great for getting them ready for recycling …
Let’s start with something that has work.
Salad with grill pork dress with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Straight forward simple salad. That’s as successful of a diet as you can ever ask for.
Egg and yogurt.
What can go wrong with egg and yogurt? That’s like the simplest breakfast ever.
Salad with steak dress with olive oil, soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
This is something a bit different that I do to my salad. The steak was pan’s fried, let cool, than cut into slices before adding to the salad. That part is not so odd. I guess the odd part is adding soy sauce, salt and pepper to the mix. That took away the freshness of the salad and make the whole thing heavy. My original thought was, it will make it taste Asian, it didn’t, it ended up tasting weird, not quite Asian and not quite Western. I guess I am really missing the acidity in the salad, I wonder if it would make any different if I have added some vinegar into it.
Let’s alternate between what’s work and what’s fail to leaser the blow later.
KFC $5 fill-up …
Well, this was definitely a fail … I was outside fixing my tire that day with my little one, and there’s a KFC right outside of Les Schwab, and we both love KFC … it’s lunch time, we are hungry, and how can I say no to my little girl right? So …
Jack in The Box burger …
Can I keep blaming my 3 years old?
Salad with smoke salmon, pan fried oyster, strawberry and raspberry dress with olive oil and orange balsamic vinegar.
Back to the healthy side, and a hefty one, I was filled after this. I know this work as a low carb diet, but I am not so sure about the calories intake on this one. Taste amazingly great though, I thought the pan fried oyster would be weird with the berries and the orange balsamic vinegar, but it wasn’t, it ended up complimenting it very well, adding depth to the overall taste, same with the smoke salmon.
Yogurt and salmon.
I did this for one of my breakfast, and it was great! Fruit flavor yogurt and salmon is one of my favorite combo now.
Stir fry pork with carrot, green beans, cashew and zucchini.
As part of my Asian heritage, stir fry is always one of my arsenal. When you think about it, stir fry is one of Asian dishes main cooking technique, and you can choose any combination to stir fry in the wok, this work really well for all kind of diets, including what I am doing now. Just stir fry away minus the rice, you will have a beautiful low carbs meal. Oh, I stir fry low heat with olive oil, that help even further.
Pho.
Not necessarily unhealthy, but definitely not a low carbs diet, it’s a definite fail …
Smoke salmon crepe.
I am not sure if this is a fail on the low carbs theme, because, isn’t crepe pretty low on carbs? Either way, it is yummy, and it was a weekend, so, whatever~ hehehe~
All you can eat Korean BBQ.
Please do not pay any attention to the “ALL YOU CAN EAT” part … Well, this is low carbs for sure, but I will still consider this a fail because of how much I ate … I ate a lot that day, I mean maybe not when I was 15 kind of a lot, but definitely when I was 25 kind of a lot. And yes, I did feel guilty after that, even though it was a weekend …
Pan fried rock fish and green beans.
Definitely low carbs, definitely healthy, if I can eat like this every night, I will live till 200s, no problems!
Salad with avocado and fried herrings dress with balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
Another salad modification, hey what do you expect, I can’t eat the same salad over and over again, redundancy is never my strong suit, got to twist it a bit, got to make it exciting, got to make it, well, not boring, no? I learn two things with this salad, first, I do not like avocado in salad, it makes everything mushy and sticky, I like my salad fresh and crisp. Second, I love fry herring in salad!!! The saltiness and crunchiness add so much texture and flavor to the freshness of the leafs, a great combo in my book. I have to go out and catch more herring now!
Let’s look at what I ate over the weekend before I end this post.
Garlic Paste Slice Pork.
Roast duck noodle soup.
Thousands Years Egg and Salty Pork Porridge.
And since I don’t hold my self accountable with what I eat on the weekend, the photos are just for the purpose of sharing, hehehe~ And I won’t tell you I had sushi yesterday night, no way in hell, haha~
That’s it folks, I hope with this, I can really start entering the diary daily, we shall see.
