Rare Snowing On Chinese New Year | Washington | Pacific Northwest

Waking up on Chinese New Year eve, the whole world is white, couple inches of snow on the ground, I finally got the white winter I was wishing for … Or did I?

It started in Richmond, BC, we went up there for a pre-Chinese New Year eating spree, just for a night. But on the way back, snow started coming down. It was strange, because it was not common in the area to have snow, especially at this time of year. Locals confirm that it is indeed rare. And once it started, it didn’t stop. It got worst on our way back, driving become difficult, and slow, especially the stretch in between University of Washington and Seattle, it took us a while to get back.

But we got back, safely, thank god … and although it was snowing at the time, it was not sticking, while I was happy to see snow, I was also thinking all will be gone by the morning. Tired from driving, I went straight to bed.

And this is what I am waking up to, SNOW EVERYWHERE!!! The world is completely white!!! This has never happen since I move in to this house, hack, we have not have snow like this since 7 – 8 years ago!!! So I was excited. Hey, I love snow, can you blame me? Usually I have to drive at least 2 hours every now and then during winter to see snow, but this is right outside of my house!!! I am SO EXCITED!!! Did I tell you I am excited?

Who knew, the snow stop right before evening and the sky clear up and we even have a gorgeous sunset to finish off the day.

The Neighborhood looks pretty awesome in snow and in the glorious golden and red sunset. This truly is one awesome day, I don’t mind the snow at all, I hope we will have more of it. I mean the road everywhere else are kind of slippery and icy and I know it suck for a lot of people. But for someone who work from home like me, there’s nothing better than this view and a cup of coffee in my hand.
